Frequently Asked Questions

How do I commission artwork from you?

  1. Initial Inquiry: To commission artwork, start by sending an email to cesca@cesca.art expressing your interest in a custom piece.

  2. Image Submission: Once we've discussed your vision and agreed on the project's scope, you can send over your images, photographs, or ideas that will help me understand your vision better.

  3. Proofing Stage: After reviewing your image, I will begin working on your commission. During this stage, I will create a preliminary sketch or digital mockup to give you an initial idea of the artwork's direction. You will have the opportunity to provide feedback and suggest any changes or adjustments to ensure the artwork matches your vision.

  4. Feedback and Revisions: Your feedback is invaluable throughout the process. If there are any aspects of the artwork that you'd like to tweak or revise, please let me know at this stage. I'll make the necessary adjustments to ensure your satisfaction.

  5. Printing and Framing: Once you're completely satisfied with the digital proof of the artwork, I will proceed to the final stages of production. The artwork will be printed onto a premium 30" x 20" canvas and carefully framed in a high quality wooden, white floating frame.

  6. Delivery: As soon as the artwork is ready, I will carefully package it to ensure its safe delivery. Shipping costs will be determined based on your location and shipping method.

  7. Receiving Your Commission: You can expect to receive your commissioned artwork within 8 weeks. This may vary depending on the complexity of the project. Upon receiving your artwork, I recommend inspecting it to ensure it meets your expectations. If you encounter any issues or have further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out.

What types of artwork do you specialise in?

I specialise in creating artwork in a simple line style, which is known for its minimalist and elegant aesthetic. I mainly focus on nature and architecture.

What is your pricing structure?

Commissions with me start at £500. This base price covers the creation of your custom artwork and includes both printing and framing services. I believe in offering a comprehensive package that ensures you receive a finished piece ready to be proudly displayed.

However, it's important to note that the final price of your commission may vary depending on the complexity of the image you have in mind. More intricate or detailed artworks may require additional time, which could affect the overall cost.

To provide you with an accurate quote for your specific commission, please reach out to me with the details of your project, including the subject matter, and any special requests you may have. I'll be happy to discuss your vision and provide a customised pricing estimate tailored to your unique needs.

Do you require a deposit for commissions?

To initiate and secure your commission, I require the full payment upfront. This policy ensures a streamlined and efficient commission process. When the full payment is received, it allows me to allocate the necessary resources, including time and materials, to create your custom artwork without delay.

This upfront payment also provides you with peace of mind, knowing that the entire financial transaction is settled before we begin work on your project. It simplifies the process for both parties, eliminating the need for multiple payment milestones or invoicing during the project's progression.

I understand that commissioning artwork is an investment, and I am committed to delivering a high-quality piece that meets or exceeds your expectations. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the payment process, please don't hesitate to reach out, and I'll be happy to address them. Your satisfaction and confidence in the commissioning process are my top priorities.

What is the typical turnaround time for a commission?

The typical turnaround time for a commission is approximately 8 weeks. Please keep in mind that this estimated timeframe may vary depending on the complexity of the project and my current workload. However, I strive to complete commissions as efficiently as possible while ensuring the highest quality of work. If you have specific timing requirements or deadlines for your commission, please let me know when you inquire, and I will do my best to accommodate your needs.

Can I request changes or revisions to the artwork?

Absolutely, I value your input and want to ensure that your commissioned artwork meets your vision and expectations. To facilitate this, you will receive a digital proof of the artwork after the initial creation phase. At this stage, you'll have the opportunity to review the piece and request any changes you'd like to see.

I understand that revisions are often necessary to achieve the perfect result, and I'm happy to accommodate your feedback during this initial review. Your first set of changes is included in the commission fee at no additional cost.

However, please note that if additional changes or revisions are requested beyond the initial round, a small additional charge may apply. This fee is in place to account for the extra time and effort required for multiple rounds of revisions, as well as to maintain fairness in the commission process.

My goal is to collaborate with you closely to create a piece of art that you'll cherish, and I'm committed to working with you to achieve that. If you have any questions about the revision process or the associated charges, please feel free to discuss them with me. Your satisfaction with the final artwork is of utmost importance.

Do you offer framing or mounting services?

Yes, I offer framing as part of my commission services. Your commissioned artwork will be printed onto a premium 30" x 20" canvas, and to enhance its presentation, it will be carefully framed in a high-quality wooden, white floating frame.

This framing option not only adds a professional touch to the artwork but also ensures that it's ready to be displayed as soon as you receive it. The white floating frame complements the artwork, providing an elegant and modern presentation that can seamlessly integrate into a variety of interior styles.

If you have specific framing preferences or would like to explore alternative framing options, please feel free to discuss your ideas with me. I'm here to accommodate your preferences and help you achieve the perfect presentation for your commissioned artwork.

What if I'm not satisfied with the final artwork?

Your satisfaction with the final artwork is my top priority. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with the commissioned artwork upon receiving it, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. I am committed to ensuring that you are delighted with your purchase.

Here's how I handle situations where a client may not be satisfied:

  1. Open Communication: I encourage open and honest communication throughout the commission process. If you have concerns or are not satisfied with the final piece, please contact me as soon as possible.

  2. Revisions: If the issue can be addressed through minor adjustments or revisions, I will work with you to make the necessary changes. Depending on the nature of the requested revisions, there may be a nominal fee, especially if they significantly alter the original agreed-upon concept.

  3. Refunds and Returns: In rare cases where revisions cannot resolve the issue, and you are still unsatisfied, I will consider options for refunds or returns. The specific terms and conditions for refunds and returns will be outlined in our initial agreement or contract.

I am committed to ensuring that you are happy with the artwork you commission from me. Your feedback is invaluable, and I'm here to work with you to address any concerns and find a resolution that meets your expectations. Your satisfaction and confidence in the commissioning process are of utmost importance to me.

Do you retain any rights to the commissioned artwork?

By default, I retain certain rights to the commissioned artwork, including the right to display it in my portfolio, website, or for promotional purposes. However, I respect your ownership of the physical artwork and your right to use it as you see fit in a personal, non-commercial context.

If you choose to purchase a digital copy of the commissioned artwork, the rights to that digital copy will be transferred to you. This means that you will have the freedom to use the digital image for personal purposes, including printing, sharing, and displaying it, as you deem appropriate.

Please note that while you have rights to the digital copy you've purchased, I may still retain the right to display the artwork in my portfolio or promotional materials, but I will do so with respect to your privacy and preferences.

If you have specific concerns or requests regarding the rights to your commissioned artwork, I am open to discussing and accommodating your needs during the commissioning process. Transparency and clear communication are key to ensuring that both parties have a clear understanding of the usage rights associated with the artwork.
